History
By the end of the 1970s, the drop in the demand for steel and the increasing difficulties in using in an efficient way the ships pushed the company to diversify its offer. In 1978, the first tanker vessel, the M/C CROCE DEL SUD, was bought. The good results obtained with this ship convinced the company to invest in the transport of chemical and petroleum products and abandon dry cargos.
Since then, the company has never stopped investing and expanding in the transport of chemical and petroleum products becoming one of the leading company in this area at national and international level.
Currently the fleet is composed by six tanker vessels with an average age of 13 years. The vessels are almost exclusively employed in the Mediterranean sea. The leading European petrochemical companies and international traders are among the major clients of Elbana di navigazione.
With the exception of the LETIZIA EFFE, almost exclusively used for the transport of refined oil products, the other ships all have stainless steel tanks that guarantee the maximum transport quality for chemical products and the maximum flexibility, allowing the transport of almost all liquid products.
